Alexandra Valenti: Phoenix Rising

Here is the work of ├╝ber talented artist/photographer Alexandra Valenti.
Oh what feelings these images invoke.
I think of rebirth. New beginnings. Rising from the ash of a past far gone.
I think of strength and of the hope for a future bright with a million possibilities.

Tunesday: Animal Astronauts- Battle of the Bands

Today my lil bro graduates from highschool. Holy eff, where'd the time go? seems like just yesterday we were having Guitar Hero battles and pretending we were cool.. now he's rocking out for for real, AND finishing highschool.

Graduating from highschool he may be. But a much more monumental event is taking place at this very moment.. Warped Tour Battle of the Bands!
Ritchie's band Animal Astronauts have the chance to play warped tour and need votes. Take a listen and if you like what you hear, vote for them... and spread the word :)

Thanks Amigos!

Food For Thought: Mango & Ginger Rice Pudding

My Uncle and his wife from Thailand came to visit last week. I found myself constantly having conversations about thai food. I learned the thai words for many tropical fruit and then subsequently forgot them all. Besides giving me a grumbling belly and a strong desire for pad thai these food conversations inspired me to find new versions of my favourite thai recipes. I simply love coconut sticky rice with mango so I decided to search the web for a new take on this classic thai dish.
I found this spicy/healthy version over at  Food Gawker.
Ginger in coconut sticky rice...Who knew?

DIY Chain Camera Strap

So I've realized I've been slacking in the picture-taking department lately. I was trying to think of an excuse and the best I could come up with is that I didn't want to look like a tourist in my home town.
Not a very good excuse, but nonetheless I was more than delighted to find this delovely DIY.
Check out the how-to at a pair & a spare
